Bolton stated that he is not interested in voting for Trump or Biden, but thinks the Democratic party is in serious trouble during this current election campaign. He indicated that Democratic party voters may not feel incentivized to vote with the dwindling poll numbers and mental acuity of Biden. The poor turnout could have significant impacts on down ballot races, which could give Republicans big wins in the Senate, House, and state-wide races.
Bolton said that Trump is unfit to be the president in his memoir that was released this past January. Bolton referred to Trump as a selfish man that has no “political philosophy” and is likely to appease China and Russia if he serves a second term. Bolton in his latest essay describes how the United States is on the brink of World War III and he doesn’t trust Biden or Trump to prevent the unthinkable from occurring.
Bolton was reportedly fired by Trump in 2019 following a series of disagreements. Speculation about the straw that broke the camel’s back related to peace negotiations with the Taliban, which Bolton vehemently disagreed with. Bolton has been referred to by many outlets and Washington insiders as a “hawk,” indicating he is not afraid of military conflict.
Despite that, Bolton is spreading the message that the acts of Biden or Trump as president will be more likely to escalate conflict and could potentially lead to World War III. Bolton indicated that Trump contradicted himself by calling Biden “weak,” but also a “warmonger.” Bolton went on to say that Trump’s assertion that the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea fear and respect him is false.
Bolton said that even if Biden stays the nominee of the party, the outlook for the Democrats in November is grim.
