Trump Accuses Biden Of Robbing American Social Security To Fund Illegals

(OurNationNews.com) Donald Trump’s campaign denounced President Biden’s immigrant amnesty measures and alleged that the program will take money away from the social security system that is intended to support elderly Americans after retirement. President Biden signed two executive orders that may cause added strain on the American social security system.

One executive order signed by the president will allow about 500,000 illegal immigrants to retain citizenship. To be eligible for the program, the individual must have lived in the United States for 10 years and be married to a U.S. citizen. The children of eligible immigrants will also be granted citizenship under this executive order.

Another executive order signed by Biden will grant work visas to illegal immigrants, including those that have been part of the DACA program. This executive order is expected to apply to hundreds of thousands of immigrants.

Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said this executive action will add illegal immigrants to Social Security and Medicare systems, which will cause an additional strain on those programs. She added that the amnesty provisions will also lead to an increase in migrant related crime.

Jason Richwine of the Center for Immigration Studies confirmed the negative effect the executive orders will have on Social Security and Medicare. He said that illegal immigrants are currently paying into the system, which is included in the agency’s budgetary forecasts. Once they are granted citizenship, they become eligible recipients of these government benefits. Immigrants tend to work fewer years and provide less overall contributions to the system, meaning it will be a net loss for the government benefit programs.

Leavitt further classified the Biden administration as supporting open borders, a common topic during the current presidential campaign. The Biden campaign may look to weaponize Trump’s response to the immigration reforms as an opportunity to criticize Trump’s border policies that separate families at the border. The two meet for the first scheduled debate on June 27 and will likely discuss immigration as well as other issues.
