(OurNationNews.com) Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina has told the Joe Biden cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment and have Biden step aside from his role as president. Tillis referred to Biden’s debate performance as proof that the president is not able to communicate clearly, which is a problem when a legitimate national security threat arises.
Tillis said that Biden was unable to clearly explain his positions and policies in the debate, which came with weeks of preparation. A real national security risk may require immediate action and Tillis isn’t convinced that Biden is capable of filling the role. In the letter, Tillis said that Biden is likely to lose his re-election campaign, but a lot can happen between now and the end of his current term in January.
Representative Chip Roy from Texas also advocated that Biden’s cabinet invoke the 25th amendment to remove the president from power. Roy introduced a resolution on June 28 to ask Vice President Kamala Harris to gather with the “principal officers” of Joe Biden’s cabinet to declare President Biden as unable to perform the duties of the position.
According to the resolution, President Biden has frequently shown in public events that he is not capable of fulfilling the role of presidency, including the role of Commander-In-Chief. The poor debate performance by the sitting president has led to Democratic party supporters to call for him to step aside as the party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
The 25th amendment has never been invoked in the history of the United States, but that is one method that could remove Biden as the Democratic party nominee for the election. The most likely scenario that would result in a new Democratic nominee is that Joe Biden voluntarily steps aside. If he does so, there are several potential candidates that have been floated. Speculation is that Governors Newsom and Whitmer are likely candidates to replace Biden or Vice President Harris.
