Kentucky Man Joins Isis in Order To Attack Planes

(OurNationNews.com) Mirsad Hariz Adem Ramic, a dual U.S.-Bosnian citizen who lives in Kentucky, was convicted on multiple terrorism charges in Kentucky for conspiring to provide support to ISIS.

In 2014, Ramic left the U.S. to go to Istanbul, Turkey. A co-conspirator arranged a different travel arrangement to meet Ramic in Istanbul. They didn’t finish the rest of their purchased travel plans and instead went to Gaziantep, Turkey which is near the Syrian border.

Ramic and his co-conspirator then went across the border into Syria and joined ISIS. He received military training from an ISIS camp and images of him have circulated online that show him standing in front of an ISIS flag with a firearm while wearing camoflauge.

Ramic stayed connected with his co-conspirators and they communicated about participating in terrorist activities, including shooting down aircrafts. They also discussed martyrdom. Ramic has dual citizenship with Bosnia and he joined an ISIS troupe made up of mostly Bosnian citizens. He was part of an ISIS offensive brigade in Kobane, Syria.

In December 2021, Ramic was deported from Turkey to the U.S. and has been in custody ever since. He will be sentenced by Judge Greg Stivers on September 24 for his convictions of providing support to ISIS. He can receive up to 50 years imprisonment and a fine of $750,000. If he is ever released from prison, he may receive supervision for the rest of his life. He is 34 years old.

Eight men that are suspected to have terrorist ties with ISIS were arrested in New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. The men are all from Tajikistan and crossed the southern border into the United States. At the time of crossing in the spring of 2023, their background checks came back clean. The men have not been charged with any terrorist crimes yet, but have been arrested for immigration related crimes. They face deportation proceedings before an immigration judge and may later be charged with crimes related to terrorism.
