Jill Biden’s Paris Trips Cost Taxpayers Over $300K

(OurNationNews.com) First lady Jill Biden is sending a bill of over $300,000 to United States taxpayers following multiple trips between Wilmington, DE and Paris, France. On a Wednesday, Jill Biden went from Wilmington to Paris to be with her husband. The next day, she flew back to Wilmington to be present at Hunter Biden’s trial. Once again, she flew back to Paris on Friday in order to attend D-Day events with President Biden.

The National Taxpayers Union Foundation estimated the total cost of the flights to be $345,400 while Fox News said the total cost could be significantly higher. The private government plane that usually transports the first lady typically costs $200,000 per hour.

Jill Biden’s office issued a statement to the media that said the government is reimbursed for the value of a first class flight between destinations. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is reportedly paying the amount that a commercial flight typically would cost. That leaves the rest of the bill to be footed by the American taxpayers.

According to calculations, the DNC will pay approximately $13,310 toward the cost of Jill Biden’s round trip to attend the trial of Hunter Biden. The roundtrip cost of $223,000 minus the DNC portion of the bill leaves $209,690 paid by taxpayers specifically so she could attend the trial.

Representatives for the White House did not provide specific numbers for the cost of the multiple flights. In addition to the hourly cost of a flight on a private government plane, there are additional costs for staffers, aides, and secret service officers. The cost for those additional government employees when President Biden flew from Philadelphia to Paris was $6,655 for one leg of the trip.

Senator Rand Paul releases a “festivus” report every year to detail wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars. This year, Senator Paul detailed $900 billion in waste that included a study involving cats walking on a treadmill.
