Israel Drops Bombs On Hamas Commander

(OurNationNews.com) Israel attacked Gaza on July 13, specifically targeting a Hamas leader who is thought to be the cause of the October 7 attack that sparked the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Israel sent massive 2,000-pound bombs in the strike on a compound where they believe the Hamas leader was located. Along with leader Muhammad Deif, Israel believes Rafa’a Salameh and Khan Younis Brigade were also present in the compound.

The Israel Defense Force thinks their intel regarding Deif’s location was highly accurate, so they believe Deif has been successfully assassinated from the series of strikes on July 13. Despite that, the IDF has not yet confirmed whether Deif was killed. IDF has confirmed that Salameh was taken out, but they expect Hamas to cover up Deif’s death for as long as they can.

Former IDF Maj. Gen Amos Gilad called for an investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for protecting Deif from being assassinated sooner. Gilad said the prime minister was able to protect Deif as part of deliberations with Hamas. Gilad also denounced Netanyahu for his handling of the war against Hamas and not having adequate plans in place.

Gilad said everything should be done to try to negotiate the release of the hostages. He said whenever negotiations are happening, Netanyahu adds more barriers to a resolution that would bring the hostages home. Gilad accused Netanyahu of “paying lip service” in the hostage negotiations when it should be their number one priority.

Gilad also commented on the U.S. presidential elections and the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. He said the lack of security and violent discourse is concerning. He said it seems that Trump is ahead in the race and Biden is losing ground on the basis of his debate performance. Gilad stated that trust is important in elections and it seems Biden has lost some trust by accidentally referring to Zelenskyy as President Putin.
