Former BLM Activist Makes U-Turn Slams Leftist Extremists

(OurNationNews.com) A number of formerly progressive influencers are making a break from leftist stereotypes and are speaking out against the toxic “woke” and extremist culture that has infected the left.

Amir Odom, who is black and gay, was previously an activist involved in the fight for black and LGBTQ+ rights, but has now since become a conservative. In an interview, Odom said that he had put not only himself, but other people in a box because of prevailing leftist ideologies.

“I was very much following the script” he said, of believing that “all Republicans were racist and homophobic.” Odom added that since he was black, and gay, felt that he had no choice but to vote Democrat and unequivocally support movements like Black Lives Matter and the entirety of the causes being championed by the LGBTQ+ community.

Odom said that he finally realized the truth and came to the understanding that he was merely “regurgitating what someone else said” and the prevalent “hot takes” among the left at that given time.

Odom also spoke on the issue of gender dysphoria, which many progressives today deem a sufficient reason to allow minors access to gender-change treatments and procedures. Odom said that many extremists in left have made a blanket label for anyone who voices any opposition as transphobic and homophobic.

“I’m sorry. I’m not going for that… I can’t defend that,” the influencer said. He added that children should be protected, and in the same way that they do not have the mental and emotional maturity to be allowed to vote, drive, or drink alcohol, making major health decisions such as receiving gender-altering drugs and procedures should also be reserved until when they become adults.

Odom, who has over 200,000 followers on Instagram and another 230,000 subscribers on YouTube, said in another interview on social media that the “TQ+” (trans and queer) community have “hijacked the narrative” and the discourse in a way that other lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals want nothing to do with. Odom’s bio on his social media accounts read, “Providing you the tools to rationally share your opinion on tough topics.”
