Deadly Arsonist Was Deported Multiple Times

(OurNationNews.com) A 59 year old illegal immigrant who started a fatal California house fire has been previously deported on three separate occasions. Jose Carmen Cardona was charged with starting the June 25 fire that took the life of a woman and her two children. The local sheriff’s office has him in custody and he has been charged with murder, torture, child abuse, and attempted murder.

32 year old woman Lisbeth Gutierrez-Salazar was the victim along with her 10-year old and 7-year old sons. One of her children was able to get out of the house without dying from the fire. Cardona was reportedly in a relationship with Gutierrez-Salazar, which provides more context for a potential motive.

Cardona has had at least seven other names that he went by according to authorities investigating the case. Cardona set the house on fire while the victims were sleeping and he fled the area. Authorities filed an arrest warrant for Cardona on June 28, which sparked a nationwide search to find the suspect. He was caught on June 12 in Modesto, California which is approximately 30 miles away from the crime scene.

The U.S. Marshall said in a statement that she hopes the arrest of Cardona will bring a sense of justice to the family of the victims. She said the violent act impacted people across the nation. With the charges that are filed against Cardona, he can potentially be sentenced to the death penalty.

Details regarding Cardona’s country of origin have not been revealed. The dates of his previous deportations are unknown and authorities are unsure of when he re-entered the United States.

Speakers at the Republican National Convention have brought up the topic of illegal immigration and slammed the Biden administration’s policies that have allowed a record number of immigrants to cross the border. Vivek Ramaswamy said not all illegal immigrants are bad people, but they will be sent back to their country because they broke the law.
