China Building Military Base Next To US Base

(OurNationNews.com) Those worried about foreign influence in the United States won’t be pleased to learn that China appears to be building a new military spy center in Cuba (with the cooperation of the Cuban government) near the U.S. military installation at Guantanamo Bay.

Recent satellite photos depict the construction taking place in the town of El Salao which is near Santiago de Cuba. The project began near the beginning of Joe Biden’s presidential term in January, 2021. Media reports indicate the facility is being made to host multiple high-powered antenna arrays that can spy on radio communications.

The new spy base will be able to eavesdrop on the U.S.’s Guantanamo Bay installation despite the fact that Chinese spy technology is similar to outdated equipment dropped long ago by the U.S. and Russia. This is the fourth base on the island, adding to facilities that already exist at Wajay, Bejucal, and Calabazar.

Experts in intelligence say there’s a serious threat to U.S. national security from these close bases. China is building in Cuba, they say, specifically to be close to the mainland U.S. and intercept radio/electronic messages passed between U.S. space agencies and military posts. Chinese spies are also interested in listening in to comms between commercial shippers, and plain old communications from American citizens.

China seems to be expanding its presence and influence in Latin America and the Caribbean region; its aim is to weaken the U.S.’s power and replace it with its own. In one example, China is constructing a huge port in Peru. U.S. officials say this could put nearby Latin American countries in danger of economic pressure from China and weaken America’s ability to do anything about it.

China also has expansion and influence projects starting up in Honduras, Argentina, Columbia, and Brazil.

The Communist nation is also hard at work on the resort island of Antigua, which is near the U.S. Virgin Islands. China wants to run a customs and immigration center that subject to Chinese rule, with its own shipping port, a Chinese airline, and offices to issue passports.
