(OurNationNews.com) Law enforcement in California has finally put a stop to the crime spree of a gun shop burglary ring that is believed to have stolen as many as 300 firearms from gun stores all across Southern California.
According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, the group conducted their criminal activities within the span of nine months. The criminal ring is comprised of six men: Lake Elsinore natives 18-year-old Cross Arjay Goree, or “C3”; 23-year-old Kendall Eric Johnson, or “K3”; 22-year-old Caine Aiden Goree; and 19-year-old Brendan Markel Hawkins. The other two, Kenneth Gilmore III, or “Kenny”, 19 years old; and Calvin Logan Gray, 18 years old; hail from Las Vegas, Nevada, and Murietta, California, respectively.
The favored modus operandi of the group was to steal a vehicle, which they would then crash into the storefronts of the stores they targeted. They would then enter the premises and destroy display cases and steal as many firearms as they could, and then flee the scene, also on a stolen vehicle. The gun stores were located in various cities in Southern California such as Murietta, Fallbrook, Oceanside, Poway, Camarillo, and Orange.
Each time, the suspects would manage to steal anywhere from 25 to 85 firearms. The six were not successful all the time – information from the DOJ shows a number of stores the gang attempted to rob but were unable to steal firearms from. The crimes were committed from October last year to as recent as July this year.
Law enforcement managed to obtain information on the gang’s whereabouts, and a search warrant was executed on July 13. Officers managed to capture and detail all six suspects, and upon inspection of the house they were in, found a number of the firearms that the group had previously stolen.
Through other related investigations, law enforcement also managed to retrieve some of the stolen guns which were put up for sale on the black market – which at times were in the possession of other individuals under investigation. The owner of the gang’s most recent target, Fowler’s Gun Room in Orange, California, said that around 70 of the various 85 rifles and pistols that were stolen from his store have been recovered.
